recolor objects

Post by roberto13 »

in TBHarmony you can recolor everything. Select the color ID, change the color and all objects in your scene in all layers with that color get the new color.
For example: i want adjust a specific skintone in all of my characters with one click.
Is this possible in Moho?
Thanks

use a named style for the skin colour. then changing the style will change the colours of all shapes that use that style.

e.g. https://www.lostmarble.com/moho/manual/ ... index.html

Also, if you want to duplicate the character, and then change the custom Styles you created in the duplicate to be different from the original, you'll want to enable Unlink Shared Styles for the second character when you import it. The shared effect of the Styles will still work within the duplicate.

At this stage, you may want to rename the Styles for the duplicate character to avoid confusion in the Styles window, which will now show two sets of styles with similar names. Or to make Styles management easier...

Tip #1: Before importing the character to the animation project, I like to import the character to an empty project using the Unlink Shared Styles option, and rename the Styles there. This is easier because I have only one set of Styles to sort out. I save this version of the character as a new character, and now it's ready to import to the animation scene with the other character. Unlink Shared Styles is not necessary when importing the new character because I've already done that.

Tip #2: Strider2000 created a script for quickly renaming Styles:

Rename Styles

I haven't used it in Moho 14.x, so if you try it out, let me know if it works for you.

Hope this helps.

Sure. Here's a little more info about Unlink Shared Styles: When you need to create a variation of an existing style in a duplicate character, it's not enough to simply rename it. Even if you rename the style, Moho only looks at the Style ID, not the name. This is why I recommended importing and using the Unlink Shared Styles option to create variants. (I learned this lesson the hard way while creating hundreds of cats for an episode of Boss Baby.) :D

Thanks Greenlaw, i played trough this and "unlink shared styles" works great. Although you have to be carefull with importing, because moho does not rename the imported groups, layers and styles so you can and end up with a lot of confusion in the layer panel.
So your procedure of first importing it into an empty scene, then rename it all, save it and finally import it into your main scene is the way to go:)
