Hi all, I apologize in advance for the newbie question. I searched but I couldn't find anything addressing my question, so either I'm using bad search terms or the answer is so mind-numbingly obvious that I'll be slapping my forehead. Here goes:
I have a simple dinosaur drawn from vectors and on a separate layer added some texture with some of the amazing vector brushes. Then I set up masking so that texture outside the boundary of the vector dino was not visible. I've rigged the vector dino with bones but the masked texture is not moving with the vector dino. Do I have to bind the vector points of the texture drawings to bones as well? Layer binding doesn't seem to work and point binding seems like an intense amount of work. There must be some simpler way!
Thanks for reading my long-winded question! I hope it's something simple I'm missing, or that there's a better way to go about the whole thing.
Eric

Hi Eric, welcome to Moho!
Yes, you'll need to 'Bind Layer" to the bone for the texture layer to follow the bone.
How to Bind Layer
1. Select Texture Layer on the Layer Panel or Alt > R-click on the texture
2. Choose the "Bind Layer" tool
3. Select the Bone you want to bind to. That's all!
The video below is to get the Textures to follow and bend with the bone:

Re: newbie q about masked layers and bones
Thanks for responding, Gibble!
So I think I'm starting to get it: it sounds like I need separate layers for each body part. Currently I just have the vector drawing of the entire dino on one layer and a separate layer for the texture. It sounds like the best way to proceed is to break apart the vector of the dino into different layers per moving part, and create texture layers for each of those parts. Then the texture for the body part (in my case, skin splotches for the dino) will follow the bone because it will only be bound to that individual bone by layer binding. Have I understood correctly? Thank you so much for your help!

Re: newbie q about masked layers and bones
You don't have to have all the body parts on separate layers but it certainly has its advantages to do it that way.
If you have every major body part on its own layer or group and its clearly labelled so its easy to understand and edit, it'll be much easier to use and troubleshoot- if needed.
I don't see any disadvantage to doing it that way.
However I do see disadvantages to clustering everything on one layer as it easily gets too cumbersome and hard to edit and its harder to troubleshoot too when you run into issues.
