Rig is lagging

i am working on a rig for a animated show.the rig is working but somehow it is lagging more than the other rigs.i cant seem to find the solution.Things i have tried
1.checked for negative keyframes using the scripts.(not found)
2.gpu acceleration is turned off.
3.stopped all other apps.
usually moho is quite fast and the rig file i work tends to be around 2/3 mb in terms of file size.this rig has a lot of layers in it.and the file size is almost 9mb.what can be cause.

've had this happen with older rigs after an update. I don't know a definitive answer but what I did was remake the vectors which sucked! I had eyes there for some reason was slowing down my rig. I replaced the eyes and it speeded up. That was my solution. resave the rig as a "test rig" and delete layers until you see what layers are causing the lag. I'm not a technical dude but it worked for me. Again it may not be a solution for you but try it.
