I'm confused.
So this works: smartbone --> smartbone --> points
But this doesn't: smartbone --> smartbone --> bone
Has this always been a limitation? I don't think it has.
But I'm running into this with a rig I'm doing right now.
Is this a bug? Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Jim

A professional mentioned that nesting is restricted to one level because of performance concerns.

Sometimes I have this problem, sometimes not. It's confused! I can never find why yes and why not. I would like to understand.

Re: Nested smart bone actions don't work?
You can work around this by targeting a bone at the Smart Bone. The targeting bone doesn't need to do anything, just target. This keeps the Smart Bone 'alert' when nested. After setting It up, use Shy Bone to hide it so it doesn't get messed with. This is a trick I use in advanced rigs where there are multiple nested Smart Bones Actions. (I call this technique daisy chaining.)
BTW, this isn't a bug. I believe Moho intentionally limits the 'alertness' of the Smart Bone to improve performance. I do think this behavior should be optional, though. In the meantime, my bone target trick should work for you.
I hope this helps.
(I guess I should make a tutorial about this trick. I mentioned it in this forum before, but that was many years ago.)
