Select Points tool's "Simplify" function not working on smart warp layer

Select Points tool's "Simplify" function is not working on smart warp layer's points and points created with Draw Shape tool. It only works on points draw with Freehand tool.

Am I missing something, or it's designed to be so? Any other handy way to reduce some points on smart warp layers?

A warp layer's points should all be connected with multiple curves, so removing any points would destroy some curves.
The draw shape tool already uses the minimum number of points to create the shape. So removing any points would lose the shape.
