Blender for Moho Users
Hi! I haven't been active on the forum for a while, but I'm starting a new series for Moho users who want to migrate some of their skills into Blender.
I plan to do about 1 a week while I'm updating some of my assets for the next set of videos on my channel. I'll keep everything to this one thread. If you have questions about a tutorial, I'll answer them here or in the comments of the vid.
Enjoy!

Here is the tutorial for 1-3. This is the first video I've edited since switching my image computer to Linux Mint, so there were some complications getting h.264 video properly imported into DaVinci Resolve. Enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions:

Here the pre-tutorial for 1-4. We re-create the 'Frank' character and give him some color.
I should have the rigging tutorial for 1-4 posted by tomorrow.

Re: Blender for Moho Users
Hi,
long time blender dabbler (since 2.7 - now on 4.5.4 LTS) here, but I still consider myself a Blender noob.
your tut series plus the 14.4 announcement (https://moho.lostmarble.com/blogs/news/ ... nd-blender) has tempted me to dabble further.
I've jumped in with your 2.1 and 2.2 offering, so if the answer to my question is "go and look at the 1.x series" I can take that! But ... noticing that the Scene Collection is mostly populated by things called "Circle..." I got confused as to why not "Plane..." - and then wondered if you're willing to share the .blend files?

Re: Blender for Moho Users
The default name for any object in Blender is based on it's initial selection. For most of the objects in the 2-1/2-2 tutorial, I started with a circle as the first part of the object. In the case of the first two objects, I gave that circle only 3 points, which is essentially a triangle. In edit mode, I then added a plane for the square, A 5-point circle for the pentagon, 6-point circle for the hexagon, etc. I used the 'F' tool to make them into faces. 'F' can actually make a face out of any number of points, but results may become unusual if the points don't all fit within the same plane.hayasidist wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 4:32 am I've jumped in with your 2.1 and 2.2 offering, so if the answer to my question is "go and look at the 1.x series" I can take that! Re: Blender for Moho Users
I have a hard time learning Blender expecially modeling in the space. I know that it would require practices, however, Since my work is not very much into 3D path, practicing 3D Modeling is not often for me. I can model stuff, basic stuff, and other meterail quite well, but modeling character is very hard for me. Example, when I adjust the left side, it break the other sides.
However, I think if Moho has blender interaction, I may need to spend more time on blender to learn what is possible to have my Moho tasks the most advantage out of it.
What I like about Moho is that it seems to understand modern animators way more better than any other application. Everything I think I should need, Moho always gives those features althogh it sometimes lack of functionality in the features. Something like 3D space in Moho that let me create a very unique 3D style by using only bitmap layers.

There's a few good character modeling tutorials out there, and we'll get to that before too long in this series.
Tutorial 2-3 and 2-4 are out:
