Switch Folders

Post by starstriker32 »

I'm not sure if anyone else has asked about this or not. Ever since I updated to the next version of Moho Pro, I have been having trouble with switch layers/groups. When I go to switch for instance the mouth group from one pose to another (I'm not at frame 0, I'm animating at this point) I suddenlt get this big blown up pixilated image of the mouth that I taking up the entire screen. Another time, I set up a switch group for a mouth and several of the mouth poses dont show at all. Out of the 5 options I have in the switch group, only 2-3 show up. I still see the red square border of the layer but the actual image is missing.

Just wondering if it was some sort of bug or not. Equally I'm no expert when it comes to this so it could just be something that I missed when setting it all up.

Thanks

Could it be a layer naming problem? Groups and layers in the root level of a Switch Layer need unique names, or conflict can occur.

You hadn’t mentioned working with layered PSD files, but if this is the setup, you should make sure each layer is clearly named there too. Moho can use Layer IDs to identify layers, but it first checks layer names. Using unique names for each layer also helps maintain intended connections when you add/remove/merge layers in the paint program.

This is a separate issue from maintaining unique names for Switch Layers, but it can affect Moho's ability to recognize layers.

I thought this was worth mentioning in case it applies.

I upgraded a few months ago when the latest version came out and I updated from the version previous to this current one.

The Naming issue seemed to fix the current rig that I'm working on, Im usually pretty dilligent with labelling but hadnt done it yet.

The strange thing is, I first discovered it a few months ago just after I updated. I opened a rig that I had made previous to the update; thats when I noticed the issue. It worked fine before the update and everything was labelled, but afterwards I had problems. I just reopened one of those older rigs now and checked it again and everything seems to be fine again.

Anyway like I said, the Labeling idea seems to have done the trick, thankyou both for your help!!!
