Liquid shapes multiple blend values?

Post by heyvern »

I am guessing it's not possible. I tried and tried with no success, but I may have gotten the order of shapes or grouping of shapes wrong.

Here is an example of what I am trying to do;
a body shape with legs and arms, and a relatively high blend value with liquid shapes. Then, I want to add to this liquid shape some hands and fingers with a lower blend value, but the large blend value makes them disappear or merge into nonexistence. I did figure out how to create separate "groups" of shapes that are distinct with different values for hands and fingers, but if I select that shape, say for a hand and fingers, and try to merge it with the body shape, either the body picks up the hand's lower blend value or the hand picks up the body value.

I am okay if this isn't possible, just wanted to make sure. I can simply have the hands as separate liquid shapes with lower values and have a "hard join". It's not awful and was in the original sketch for the character. Just verifying since I could have sworn I saw this mentioned as a feature in one of the tutorial videos, but may have imagined it.

Until I know for sure, I found a workaround that works okay. I duplicate the base shape of the hand shape that has the small blend value. I paste that and add it to the larger BODY ARM liquid group higher blend value. It almost creates a smooth blending shape but keeps the fingers from blending too much.
