I'm working on big indie project (I'm not the only person on the team, but I'm presently half of them), and I'm thinking of hiring Moho animators on a gig-by-gig basis. The budget is a credit card, so the modest payment will be a non-starter for many people, but I'm thinking there must be SOME Moho riggers and animators who might be interested. Do you (you, reading this right now) know the names of any animators I should consider contacting? You can send it private, if you like. I am aware of the Jobs section on this forum, but I'm looking to cast a much wider net. Also, I have questions appropriate to this forum.
I have wasted a ton of time trying to find Moho animators. I need names. I have scoured the internet and hyperbolically checked LITERALLY ten-thousand CVs and only found 3 with Moho listed in their credentials -- and their reels indicated they were still learning the basics. I need people who are actually good, at least a 3 on a scale of 1-5. In fact, I prefer a 3 over a 5. A few seconds of brilliant animation will make the rest look shabby, so if somebody is a 5, they would need to take it down a notch.
When I say "gig," this is what I mean:
Rig a character's face for left-right-up-down animation (character already designed).
Insect walk cycle.
Animate a character hurriedly descending stairs (character already rigged).
Animate a bird feeding a baby bird (characters already designed, minimal rigging).
Animate boy climbing onto a bicycle (character already rigged), point animation, may need FBF, 2 seconds.
Animate a hand slowly making a fist (no bone rig).
Do 30 seconds of lip sync (switch layers already made) with appendicular gesticulations (character already rigged).
I intend to make bite-sized gigs that an animator can do in their spare time, and they only get 1 at a time. Animators will do that kind of work, right? I have never met a real life animator, so I'm not exactly sure.
To be crystal clear, the pay is far below what actual studios pay. The people who are interested in these gigs need to be self-motivated, because the money isn't going to make them jump with joy.
Follow-up question. Can I just say in an email, "This is work-for-hire," and "No posting the gig online until the film has premiered at a festival, or 2 years go by," and skip the mailing a contract thing?
Right now it's June of 2026. If you're reading this in 2027, the ship has sailed. Please do not revive this thread.
Moho is the ideal solution for big indie animation projects. It's a tragedy that more people don't have it on their CV.
Where are the Moho animators? I want to give them money.

Have you checked out the Moho Ambassadors: https://moho.lostmarble.com/blogs/moho- ... or-program?
Per the verbiage on the page "The Moho Ambassador Program is a community initiative that connects experienced Moho animators with those who want to learn, find talent, or get trained in any area of Moho Animation Software. Ambassadors are passionate, seasoned users who mentor beginners and intermediate animators, participate in community discussions, lead tutorials or workshops, and serve as trusted resources for anyone looking to grow their Moho skills."
Also helps to throw out an estimated range and budget - unless really desperate, animators are burned out trying to get that information at this point.
Hope that helps

Additionally to the info about how much pay is in it, you should show some examples of finished animation - so others know which level is expected - and some artwork/designs - not everyone wants to work on any style.
