Moho for frame by frame clean up?

Post by alberto.linkvids »

Hi everybody, first time posting here!

I have been learning Moho for the past years and have incorporated it in various projects at my workplace, but always from a cut-out approach based on rigging. I have loved the experience and I am trying to further use its potential.
I am thinking about using it for clean up for a hand-drawed frame by frame project, mainly because there are a lot of textures and I think it could look really good using Moho's brushes, line boil and the magnet tool for speeding up the process and not redrawing everything. I am not really sure if it would be optimal to just do the whole clean up + texturing in moho (since i'm not really finding a way to use the bucket tool for coloring that convinces me) or if it would be wiser to just do the texture pass with Moho painting above already cleaned up and colored frames.

Has anyone here tried a similar pipeline? Do you have any tips for doing frame by frame clean up in moho or it doesn´t really make sense?

Thank you! :D

It will depend greatly on the complexity of your animation, and the length of scene. Few strokes, short scene? Go for it. But anything more complex and longer will bite heavily into your machine's performance.

Personally I'd always clean FBF in the same program I animated in, for me there's no advantage in using Moho for that.

You could try a hybrid approach: do the textures in Moho, do the lines in your bitmap programm. I think importing the texture layers from Moho into bitmap is better than the other way round, as you can erase stuff easier.
