Animate Paper?

Post by Eddie »

Is it possible to animate (end view) a sheet of paper wrapping around multiple rollers, such as a sheet of paper moving along a winding path inside of a copier? Thanks, Eddie

Create a long, still "paperstrip" (just like if you load a very long paper into your machine) then put this into a group together with a moving rectangle, and use the rectangle to view the papersheet's missing edges and to mask the long paper. Maybe some additional works required if the paper overlaps itself somewhere.

Check out this tutorial by Lost Marble which may be helpful. Instead of water particles you would have sheets of paper.

Don't know it you could make it as mechanical looking as needed, but perhaps a variation of LM's Object Warping Trick http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1443 might work for something like this.
