Why is it always about marketing...

Post by wizaerd »

I'm grateful for the free upgrade, I think this partnership with e-frontier will be a good thing for this application, but why oh why do I have to join yet another web site?

This isn't even really necessarily about content paradise or even e-frontier... It's every webiste I visit these days. I wish to purchase something, I have to register. Even if it's something I'm only going to buy once. If I wish to ask a question somewhere, I have to register. To read my horoscope, I have to register.

I realize that without registering, specifically in forums, makes it wide open for spam. But there's gotta be another way... I'm tired of registering for things. I'm tired of joining websites.

ok, never mind the lunatic in the corner standing on his soapbox... I guess I'll go register for yet another website...

Yeah, i know what you mean, especially if its just for a demo. but i guess if it is something you are to own and possibly want to give feedback or need assistance, to me i think its good..they know that you own this product. they have you with this serial number and your the right owner for it. etc

but i HATE signing up for demos and stuff like that..

I also am weary of constantly having to register at websites, sometimes simply to LOOK at a gallery or some artwork. It's so bad that I have to keep a very long list of usernames and passwords for each one because I can't remember which name I used on which site or forum. Most of the time when you register you don't have to provide much information, but it's not even that that I object to, but the constantly having to do it yet again. Welcome to the 21st century, I guess.

Wonder what's involved in a site using Microsoft Passport? Or some similar "register once to use these associated sites" option would be cool.
