Animatible Layer Binding

Post by wizaerd »

In other bone related animation software (typically 3D), it's possible to constrain a bone to another bone dynamically. This makes it easy for an animated character to pick up an item, interact with it, and set it back down.

Currently to do this in AS requires duplicated layers, complicated layering, hiding and unhiding elements, etc...

So my feature request would be etiher:

A) Allow dynamic bone constraints

b) Or the easier approach is to animate layer binding. Say I have a glass in it's own layer, and frames 0-36 it's not bound to anything. Frames 37-64 it's bound to a bone, and from frame 65 on it's not bound to anything, or perhaps a completely different bone (think of a character handing an item to another).

This might make interacting with props a bit easier... dunno that for sure, but it was just a thought...
