Looks really good, it's well paced and the animation goes well with the dialogue.
When the cat gets struck you could flicker the flash a bit more and make the cat appear silhouetted in the flash.

There are some electrocutions at the end of this clip!
(Sorry it's a bit grisly, I seem to animate that way =()
Cheers

Re: First animation with ASP5 - comments welcomed
Well done! I watched without sound just so I could focus on the animation. The framing is good, and the animation is smooth, not jerky. I especially like the reported cat's twitching tail. Good attention to details!DVTVFilm wrote:Here's a link to my first attempt with ASP5. Sort'a learning as I go...

Yes this is my first attempt as an animator --a genre I've always wanted to participate in- but never could because I cannot draw the things I see in my mind. Perhaps this is why I was drawn to Poser6 which opened a new world for me. I like to write (screenplays) and I've a strong editing BG (GrassValley, FCP, etc) --so now with ASP5--I look forward to seeing where this will take me. I really can't draw--and vector art is hard, but I'm determined to learn... I thank you all for looking...

Of course, if you're serious about animation, you should really try to put some effort in learning how to draw. Not just drawing from a life model, but also trying to emulate your favorite cartoonist and animators, trying to figure out why they draw in a certain way. Concentrate on the substance (fundamentals) of their drawings, not the style. Emulation is still the best way to learn.
