Hey thanks for the nice comments. I'm doing some 3/4 views of it right now just with point manipulartion to see if i can get it to rotate in 3D smoothly using switch layers and interpolation.
Another example that an artist can do pro work inside AS!!!

Can you please explain that a little more? I can imagine a little the rotation via point manipulation. But how does rotating the layer in 3D get into this prozess? Sorry if I ask a newbie question.
Here is a link to the file i'm working on. This is not true 3D but a way of faking 3D in AS. The way I approached this is to use two photo's of the animal you want to create as reference, one side and one 3/4 view (i just found them on the net).
Then in AS break the animal into 3 basic blob shapes, focusing on the general outline of the head mid and hind quarters. You'll see from the anme file that i've only finished work the first two shapes, head and mid section so far. Using the same number of points always I just manipulate them to form the first basic body shape that suits the first photo then drag the timeline along say ten frames and drag the points so that they all form the shape of the second photo. There is a bit of fiddling and dragging to do to get the points to tween properly. After the 3/4 view is finished, I then create another layer then make a 3/4 to full frontal movement or point morph. This gives me a full side to front rotation of the animal to simulate 3D using only two layers under a master switch layer. It takes a bit of effort to set up but the control you can get over the character is amazing and all from a switch layer. Try dragging on the timeline to see the effect.
