It woudl be fantastic if we could export alpha's of our work to utilize in other programmes much easier such as Vue d'esprit in my case.

Hello Ashe,
if you have the Pro version you could use the shadow trick in Tutorial 6.5 to generate the alpha plane as a black mask against white, or indeed a white mask against black. Just leave out the perspective and opacity parts.
However, I don't know if this will work with partly transparent shapes.
If instead you mean an alpha channel included in the standard image/animation, Anime Studio already does that automatically - you just have to make sure your format/codec supports alpha (e.g. PNG for images or image sequences, and the correct codec and settings for .avi or .mov files).
