color picker
I get really tired of typing in color values for outlines/gradients, etc. Can we please can an eye-dropper/color picker to move anywhere on the screen and get a color? Or at least let the swatch panel be accessible for line color, that would be enough.
PLEASE DON'T go to bezier curves- If anything make it optional, but please don't take away the simplisticity you have now. That's one reason I really dislike using Flash and AI. Flash seems to forget what points you deleted and adds a million more (unless they've fixed that) and when you go to adjust a curve in Flash or AI you don't always know what result you're going to get unless you're super familiar with them.

Re: color picker
ColorCop is a good work around. It needs a copy and paste but at least it stays on top and colour picks from anypart of the screen. It's a Color Scheme Tool, but you can't download.
Sorry, I have a mistake with the last link, and I'm edited my post again.

i think the users are missing the point. I myself don`t want to download 300 utilities that could easily be implimented into the software. Of the things out there I think an eyedropper is on the more basic and essential side to include. I`m only a beginner and realizing i`m using alot of time either making custom pallete images to import, or hunting down )FFDECF for every color thats not in the basic pallete.

We realise what you are after, but as users we can't offer you a software change. So, the suggestions are offering you workarounds that you can use now, until whenever AS 6 eventually comes out with a built-in eyedropper tool (or AS 7 or AS 8, or whenever such a tool is implemented).buijon wrote:i think the users are missing the point. You can use any existing image (that you would eventually be using an eyedropper tool on) as a colour swatch (maybe with a quick resize for convenience).buijon wrote:making custom pallete images to import
ColorCop, after you've set the preferences, automatically puts the hex values into the clipboard in the correct format, so it is a matter of ColorCop, click, paste - not much different to using a built-in tool.buijon wrote:or hunting down )FFDECF for every color thats not in the basic pallete.

What I would like to see is a way to be able to use the OS's color picker. I have an add-on for the Mac's Color Picker (http://www.oldjewelsoftware.com/products/ppicker/) and it has some bells and whistles, such as choosing a complementary color, etc... Also the Mac's Color Picker allows the user to save custom RGB colors. That's the one thing that's missing with AS, an automatically updating color palette (think of flash's).
Random thought:
Unlike OS colour pickers, Anime Studio's colour picker also allows you to set transparency/opacity/alpha, which can sometimes be quite useful.
So, if Anime Studio did use the OS colour picker, it would still need some sort of internal alpha value-entry+slider. Not impossible, just something to think about.
