problems with vector layers

Post by Mila83 »

Hello, I just started using AS, so I am pretty unexperienced. I made different vector layers, but its always only one layer visible. And I can't find an option to make all layers visible at the same time.
And another problem I have is, that there are everywhere little dots, on every end of a line, is it possible to get a preview without these dots?
Thanks for helping me!

Every program has its way of doing things, and you will need to spend some time to get used how AS does things.

You can only draw in one layer at a time. So you'll need to select the layer you want to draw in first, through the Layers window.

There are several drawing tools. The Add Point tool adds wire frame points, while the Freehand tool is able to draw visible lines directly.

It goes like this. With the Add Point tool you can draw a wire frame that consists of points that are connected to each other (some points are connected to some other points). These are called curves. To make these curves visible, you select a number of points of that curve with the Create Shape tool and hit the space bar (or press the Create Shape button in the upper part of the main window). For shapes to fill, the selected points need to form a closed curve. If a curve is not closed, or the selected points do not form a closed curve, you cannot fill a shape (you'll get an outline instead).

I suggest you read the manuals that came with Anime Studio and try some of the examples described in the tutorial. If you have bought Anime Studio (the non Pro version), some examples will not work, because the necessary features are only available in the pro version.

To get rid of the visibility of the dots you mention (the points), click the "Display quality" button on the bottom of the main window, and uncheck "construction curves". It won't show the dots then.

If you only have one layer visible, clicking on another layer will switch to that one being visible and all the others hidden. Try alt-clicking on the visibility (eyeballs) icon on the currently active layer on your Layers palette. That should toggle between all-visible and only-this-visible. Or you can manually click on the visibility icons for each layer.
