WHAT BUG you ask. . . hehehe
I'm not a tech type but what I have discoverd that (not just me) exporting flash with audio workes with some audio and not with others of the same type (.wav 44hertz 16 bit etc)
I had sucsess at exporting a whole song into a flash file (for testing)
but than I imported another at the same sound settings in .wav format and no go, the animations their but no sound
NOW
I use an application called switch to convert different audio formats to wav format at 44hertz 16bit stereo wich worked for one song but not for another
SO
this could be a problem with my switch app but others are having the same problem so. . . .
so the question is, whats a safe app to use for sound conversion that always works or if this is anime studio problem I need to figure out what might be causeing it to not work, mabe its somthing stupid like my spyware monitor or somthing. . . ?
also I don't think this is to do with the size of the wav file, the wav file that did work was 34mb and the one that didn't was 36mb hmmmm
how to get around the flash audio bug?

Erm. I know mp3 files attach to flash when exported. I dont thin WAV files get exported to WAV.
You can use iTunes to convert WAV to mp3. You'll need another app to go back to mp3 to WAV (which is sort of pointless because of the whole lossless-lossy-lossless-it'll still be lossy because it;s been converted over... thats a different story).

Erm. . . .
hmmmm. . .
no I think this is a problem with anime studio, I'v tryed many programs to convert mp3, ogg, and even wma to wav so I can import wav into anime studio (wich is pretty much all it accepts besides aiff)
I'm just wondering if there is a short term solution to get around this, I got one song working but can't get any of the others working in flash, all wav, all same setting
I'll keep trying to figure out a solution though

ok I figured it out
its not a bug, just ether undocumented or I didn't read the whole manual
hehehe
anyhow
the trick is to have a .wav soundfile that you can use in anime studio AND a duplicate of that wav file in mp3 format in the same folder as the wav file (or mabe also the project folder) and thats how it works, the names of the wav and mp3 duplicate I think have to be the same as well, than as cribble said above the mp3 version of the sound gets exported into the flash file when you export it (not the wav file, I thought anime had some conversion process built into it. . . . wrong)
so cribble you were right, I just couldn't quite follow your post the first time, sorry and thanks
ok that should be all I need to know for a long while, thanks everybody

That would make sense, but it is still a rather crummy solution if you'd ask me. It all shows that Flash was added later on in the project, as a bonus. If Flash export was considered from version 1.0, the support for audio would have been much better, I'm sure.
It all means, that AS is just one of the tools you will need to create Flash animation. If you're on Windows, there is a good affordable alternative to (rather bloated) Adobe Flash for managing your media with Swish, and for audio there are some good affordable (and even free) alternatives too (on both Mac and PC). And if you're just showing animation on a website, you can get by with an affordable preloader software, like Vertical Moon's SWF Lock & Load (Mac and Windows), or one of the free apps for Windows.

yeah, sorry about that. It was late when i posted it so double checking everything became a lesser priority!the switch wrote:ok I figured it out

But yes, AS has no conversion facility to convert WAV to MP3 upon export. I think i will bung this as a feature requests as i think people are getting confused.
