Layer Blur Radius Minimum too big

I wanted to add a bit of blur to my background using the layer 'blur radius' feature of AnimeStudio.
However the minimum blur appears to be 1 (I'm assuming 1 pixel) which is too much for what I want. I don't suppose there's any way to avoid using another app for this feature?
I'd also imagine this would create problems with rack-focus effects since the step is too big...?

Just guessing: doubling the dimensions of your project, then using "1px" blur, would effectively look like "0.5px" in the roiginal dimensions.
