I just noticed if I check "Do not premultiply alpha channel" in the Export window my alphas are correct.

However the "layers" have a black background.

DarthFurby,

Don't forget the alpha export bug is specifically related to how fills are applied in AS. It has to do with styles.

You can export proper alphas if the fill styles are done in a certain way (as noted above).

Since all I use are styles and they are ALWAYS applied after shape creation I've always had "bad" alphas. Unless I check the "do not premultiply alphas" check box... this gives me fringies though with the black background.

No matter how I apply the styles my alphas are fine, but I have some thoughts:

Slowtiger: Is the opacity bar(in the fill color box) and layer opacity(under layer settings) at 100%? You can test opacity by placing images beneath existing layers before exporting them.

Cribble: Does the alpha video work in AS? If so then the problem is in FCP.

Heyvern: The black background and fringes should disappear when you import the unmatted alpha video back into AS.

If this is a bug then it doesn't seem to be in the Windows version of AS.
