waves test
I've been exploring the possibilities to make moving water in AS, and also making streetlights with lights off/on controlled with actions, this is what I've come up with so far.
I think I have to explore actions a lot more, it seems to have a lot of power if you use it right, as Heyvern, Genete and some others at the forum has pointed out.

Hey- that's really fantastic water! And, well- I want to use the same technique in my animation. I'm trying to pick apart your anme file- but I don't think the water ripples png is imported correctly. Could you post that png for me so I can see what it's supposed to look like??
I'm working on a cruise ship scene where the ship is "dancing" to music- that water would look really cool in it.

Thanks ulrik! Here's what I managed to come up with:

I added a little depth by making each set of waves a bit bigger the closer they are. This is definately THE method to use to make waves in AS!

Thank you everybody for being so supportive, I really appreciate it!
Hahaha..I love the boat bounce and the water look just great, the depth adding was clever!

Thank you J. Baker and DarthFurby!J. Baker wrote:That's pretty cool! I like the transition over to night, with the lights and all.

I have a question concerning transitions from daylight to night, in this I'm using a black filled vector with the "overlay" blend mode, it's going from 0-100 opacity but it never gets real dark, I've tried using two copies of the overlay vector but I don't like the result, what do you think is the best way to go from light to dark when you have 20-30 layers to cover?
