How to name bones

I'm sure there's a simple answer to bone naming but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. When I try to re-name a bone the new name won't take. Is there a deep mysterious rule of ASP that I am not following?

I'm sure there's a simple answer to bone naming but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. When I try to re-name a bone the new name won't take. Is there a deep mysterious rule of ASP that I am not following?

Just be sure that the select bone tool is active. The rest of bone tools don't make nothing about change names, only show it. After change the name don't forget to press ENTER. It is a little difficult to find out because with other tool than the select bone one you can write in the bone name and could think you have changed it. It should be greyed (like the size of the bone then select the translate bone tool and you are not in frame 0) when you have not selected the select bone tool.
