Good techniques for smooth mouth movements

Post by Nephilim »

Anyone got some good techniques in making smooth mouth movements? I am trying to make my own mouth for my characters and make it so all the points are the same in all the mouth vector layers. It is difficult trying to figure out the layer ordering in which the and mouth goes behind the face. Do you also put the head in the mouth switch layer? Please send me some AS files or tell me verbally of a good way to do this. I have found a lot about head turns, but haven't found much about this

I'm going to create a tutorial on how to do lip sync with bones and include a file. That will be coming soon!

you can use ramónlópez's or heyvern's scripts to import .dat to actions.
so you can create actions for each phoneme and then import the papagayo file.

Ramón's lipsynch with actions script

Heyvern's action dat import script

Thanks for your replies, but what I really am looking for is an example of a smooth lip synch with an AS file like the one that was included with papagayo. Any example of an animation in which you made a smooth lip synch will do. The scripts seen handy nevertheless.

¡'m now using ramón's lipsynch with actions.
i made the synchronization with the audio in papagayo and save the dat.
then, i made in my file actions named as all the phonemes (AI, E, FV, L... etc), just using frame 1 on each. the script insert the actions based in the dat file, you chose if as copy or reference.

I can't seem to open the AS file. It saves as a winzip file and then I double-click it and it says that the file does not appear to be a valid archive. It would be helpful to see the AS file so I can look at your actions

Dino Song... right click on dinosour and play
try this zip file I downloaded it and re zipped it on a Mac.

I've been experimenting with turning Quicktime movies into flash movies with On2.
I got the tip from J. Baker and I love it. Here's proof of why. only 443 KB
So I put the dinosour movie up on my site to test it.
I tried the free trial first and then bought it for $39.00

Thanks rplate. Your dinasour was helpful selgin but I think I have come up with a good technique. Here is my moho file, when you render it you notice that there is a faint circle in the middle of his head. I tried to get rid of it but can't seem to do it. Can you help me out?
