Blur background (Anime style) in Anime studio.

Hi i'm trying to achive the whole blur background to to make a character seem like hes moving fast (even thought the character is not really moving) mostly in action scenes(jappanese Anime), some have many lines in the BG, and some blur the actual background. and have this distorted effect hope u guys get wat i mean. pls help.

Short answer: don't do it in AS. It's much easier and faster to do something like that in Photoshop or any other bitmap program.

Tip: Take an image with very fine and colourful detail, import it into AS, then distort it in only one direction (at least x20), thus making it very loooong. This should already look very much like the effect you're searchng for.

Current blur effect from AS is only (I think) a Gussian blur. To achieve a motion blur you need another kind of program (Photoshop, Gimp and so on). Modify your background in this way and then insert it in your animations.

Also you can use layer motion blur from AS to make you static character look if it were moving (like those anime japanese movies you are refering to).

well :( i have photp shop but i'm not really a photoshop or any bitmap program guy, i wonder how i'll pull that off . :oops:

Give it a try. Play around with the program. Don't talk yourself out of it before you start...

It's difficult to get a long enough glimpse with such a brief shot but it looks to achieve the effect you were after.

My bad, i just thought short would mean faster buffering, i guess it was too short though. Thanks again guys, i'll upload the real job soon. (the one i drew froms scratch)
