New Version Costs to Anime Studio Owners

Post by VidE »

If I buy Anime Studio Pro right now, will I have to pay extra for the new version out at the end of June? My student card runs out in a couple of weeks and I was thinking of getting Anime Studio Pro through Creation Engine.

I doubt very very much that you would have to pay for the update if you purchase AS now.

As far as I know the update is basically a patch for some issues with the first release AS. I am assuming that everyone who currently owns the first release of AS (including myself) is expecting to get the update free... so if not there will be some serious squawking here for sure. ;)

I would put the odds of being right about this at 99.99765%

But still... I don't work for efrontier so I am not 100% sure.

;)

efrontier has asked for suggestions on new features for version 6.0 which is probably a ways off yet. I don't know how efrontier handles upgrades but that one might cost something. It is far enough in the future that I wouldn't mind.

Thanks folks. DK, I'd skimmed the posts and missed the update is free...' bit. I'm thinking of getting the Mac version, (I use both platforms), but there's reference to a bug on the Mac paltform that sounds like it's unfixed...
The mac version of Anime Studio Pro has a few bugs with image sequence importing, image texture and etc.
Cannot tell if they are fixed or not. Any ideas? Anyway, just got some birthday money, so hope to get AS today or tomorrow. The communities' Animations are great and I'm looking forward to getting into the program.
Thanks again.
