Beginer Stuff :)

Post by robert.hiester »

I'm working through the tutorials for Anime Studio 5. Tut 2.1, and 2.2 have me wondering how to make a pointed edge...such as the yellow crown in 2.1 and the flower pedals in 2.2. When I add a point it automatically curves everything. Im sure there is a simple solution. Thank you.

Using the select point tool select the point(s) you want to make a sharp corner and press the "peak" button (in the last row of buttons of the Draw area of the tool palette). Alternatively press "P" in your keyboard.

You can even press "P" as you're drawing with the Add Point tool, to peak the current point (the one coloured red). I find this useful.

Yeeehaaa!

Myles is very correct. I just started to do that!!! Saves a ton of time.

I use to just draw the shape and later go back and peak certain points. Very annoying.

Now I just keep a steady finger poised over the "P" key ready to peak the point as needed.

A simple example would be drawing clouds... you want a peak, and a smooth alternating... so I just hit the "P" every other point as I draw.

Thanks myles!
Also press "M" to come back to smooth!. Changing between "M" and "P" shortcut keys makes drawing very quick!

Something new learned! :D
