Bone bindings

Post by TheSocialistAvenger »

Hi everyone! I'm new here, and I know this question has been asked before, but I can't figure out a solution for my life.

I have a character that looks like this:

Character[Bone]
-Mouth[Switch]
--A bunch of mouth shapes[Vector]
-Head[Vector]
-Body[Vector]

And the problem is that the bone layer won't control the shapes in the mouth layer. I already knew that it worked like that, but I can't figure out any logical way to remedy the problem. I don't want any vector deformation or anything. I just want the mouth to simply move as a whole shape and it won't.

you have to select the mouth switch layer, pick the 'bind layer' tool (not bind points), and then click on the bone you want that layer to follow... that should bind the layer and its contents to that single bone

you cant bind sub-children to more than a single parent bone

Thanks a lot! I saw that in another post and I tried to do it, but when I selected the switch layer the bind layer tool stayed grayed out so I couldn't use it, but I restarted AS and it worked as expected. Weird.
