How do I stop the scaling of shapes when copy/pasting?

Wondering how to accomplish a certain animation task? Ask here.

Meanwhile, this plan isn't working for me. A layer inherits the layer scaling of its parent, I see.

So when I move Sean's arm outside of its parent layer, it POPS to a new size and position.

I better think of a faster workaround. I don't know what's best. Either decide to live with this layer scale/position popping, and re-scale in animation every time it happens, or ....

... scale each character to scale = 1, and rescale every single stinking vector shape.

I'll try living with it, and I'll rebuild only if necessary.
