Simpsons style character
Hey all,
Here's a quick animation I made- I had to think of something that would get me a lot of views. So with the Simpsons movie out now, I thought a cartoon parody of a youtube featured video would work well:

P.S. you should watch the video it's in response to so you can "get" the jokes

My stars, that's a lot of lip synch!
I didn't watch it critically to see if you got it perfect, but the lip synch was definitely so good one didn't question it.
I think this piece has a lot going for it--it matches the quality of The Simpsons in terms of production values. You've also mimicked the character style quite accurately, a feat which will be very endearing to people who are (for some reason) really into The Simpsons.
The voice acting was fine, pretty close to pro, I thought, and your audio engineering is excellent. The payoff at the end was silly enough to get the laugh you're looking for. (Hey, I laughed!)
Use of color--something I always look for!--was quite good, too.
The sexy-self storyline was JUST what you needed for this but it went on for too long. (Dilutes the humor slightly.) I think you made more work for yourself as an animator than necessary.
All in all, I'm not a big fan of this genre, but I think you did a marvelous job and it takes a smart guy to pull this off--given how complex it is to work with these tools!

Thanks! I did it all in a couple hours too- God I love this program lol. However I can't take credit for the character. You can go to simpsonsmovie.com and make an avatar, and make the character look however you want, and save it as a jpeg. I then just traced the image in AS and animated. The audio was all improv- I just used my crappy computer mic and recorded whatever came to mind- it was my 3rd take I think.
