Hey guys,
I need to import a 3D christmas tree that I can rotate. There will be AS elements hanging on the branches as ornaments.
The tree needs to be pre-made, with a simple, but decent baked texture on it.
Does anyone know of a quick way to get this accomplished?
BTW,
I don't think I ever posted the first finished moho/as project I did. Just a simple intro that leads to a DVD main menu---a christmas gig I picked up that overall turned out pretty good.
I was just happy to get the long dolly work to be smooth.

Need a little AS/3d help.

Hey!
I've seen those winter trees before! There were an old old thread where you asked something related to a broken line during the travel camera!!
The intro is LOVELY!! I really like it!
For the question:
If you dominate 3D programs (wings 3D, blender, etc.) you can do what ever you want.
As well as Vern and I are the crazy 3D guys of this forum I'll suggest you follow this thread to understand how to use our 3D technique without inserting a 3D obj model. I'm sure a 3D tree can be done and the effort depends on the level of details you want.
Maybe if you create in AS (using vector layers only) a front and top view of your tree I can help you 3D rigging it.

Hey thanks! It wasn't too fancy, but it did what I wanted. It went over much better than they were hoping for.
I'm bookmarking the tutorials to get started on that.
If I took the short road, where would you look to buy an object and use it? I tried a chair once, but the texture wouldn't import well.
I'm hoping just to rig it for some long dolly work again. Just up and down the tree as it pans around to look at the ornaments.
The ornaments will be flat Christmas cards of all their family members--animated slightly--and turning lightly as they hang from each branch.
