What has to be set for the background to be "alpha"? I'm pulling footage into After Effects, with the hopes of stacking a character into a composition with a different background stacked beneath it (in A.E.) but no matter how I set the background in A.S. it still shows up-
Any help would be greatly appreciated-
alpha background

Hi,
just have a look at this thread:

Especially the third posting there (by Lost Marble).

PS:
[edit:] I´ve just tested it and exported an anime studio rendering using quicktime, Millions of colors+, no compression, don´t multiply alpha and imported the movie in After Effects. It worked perfectly - I got my alpha channel, my transparent background.
