PNG on OBJ looses transparency quality

Post by PatrickS »

I have a PNG texture I use on an OBJ that has semi-transparant parts. When I import this OBJ into AS the transparancy just has pixels that are either 100 % visible or non-visible. This also causes ugly aliased edges on the textures. Does anybody know why this is and if it can be prevented somehow? When I import just the texture as an image into AS the transparancy looks fine.

Sorry to bump this, but I still haven't figured it out. Could it be that Anime Studio's 3D engine doesn't support this kind of transparancy?

I don't do 3D, so this is just a guess: OBJ files imported into AS need to be solid because AS doesn't have the kind of render engine needed for 3D and 3D transparencies.

But others here know much more about this subject.
