Any way to Export as symbols to Flash??

OK, with "layer transformation" I was referring to everything you can do with the layer tools: translate, rotate, scale, flip, perspective (haven't tested the last one for effect on symbols). I often use layer scaling as a way to squash a whole character, which is done by scaling its top group or bone layer.
The trouble with using the top Group or Bone layer to scale the character to create Squash and Stretch is that it De-Optimizes (gets rid of the red dot) Every layer that is contained within that group.
This also goes for using the perspective tools. The only way the optimization is maintained with layer scaling is when the scaling is done uniformly, which renders it pointless when ceating squash and stretch on a character for swf. output.
This is one of major bug-bears with Anime Studio as Squash and Stretch is a crucial element for any kind of animation. Plus the feature of holding 'alt' to create squash and stretch style scaling is brilliant, so to be unable to use it for swf. output is really dissapointing.
Unless im missing something?

No, you're not missing something, but I have left out something. I just did some more extensive testing about this.
1. Sometimes AS shows you red dots on layers which disappear after you've saved that file and open it again. This is where I was mistaken: as long as the file stayed open, the dots were there, but after I opened it again, they were not. Apologies.
2. I assumed that you use layer binding only, as symbol optimization does not work with either flexible ore region binding.
3. What works now, safely even after re-opening:
- Translating and rotating of both bone levels and vector levels.
- Uniform scaling of both bone levels and vector levels.
- Bone rotation, translation and scaling.
The things which show red dots while the file is still open but don't show it after re-opening are Layer rotate-x and rotate-x, and Layer shear. Using the scale tool and touching anything except the corner points results in disappearing of red dot.
Apart from this I noticed that my test file was a 40 k SWF from AS, but a 36 k SWF from Flash, even without red dots. I think you need to perform your own tests about file size which will depend on the kind of style you use.

1.Sometimes the dots will dissapear if you just highlight the layer (after you've performed something that will un-optimise the layer). No need to close the file and open it again.
2. Yeah, im just talikng about binding layers to bones. What confuses me is that you can perform bone scaling and it does'nt unoptimise the layer, but using non-uniform scale does un-optimise it. strange.
I usually have a mix of mostly optimised layers, with un-optimised ones only where I really need it. Would be great to use scaling to get squash and stretch but retain optimization though....

Exporting Layer Names to Flash
I'm a 3D Maya animator and I'm brand new to AS and pretty brand new to Flash. I like the bone elements AS gives you but need everything to be finalized in Flash.
Do any of you know if there is a way to keep Layer names for the symbol when exporting AS animations to Flash?
Thanks
