Create a new layer. On frame 1 double click the layer and set it to "invisible".
Right click on the visibility channel of the old layer and select "Add key frame".

What you have now is the new layer is invisible and the old one is visible. The new layer that is invisible will have a red high light across the time line.

Now go to the frame on the time line where you want this "reversed". Just click on the visibility channel in the time line of each layer and the visibility will be reversed for each layer.

Hope this makes sense.

Sorry i'm a Newbe done all the tutorials still finding it hard.

So when i create the new Layer do i do it Frame 0.

And then when you say set it to "invisible" do i click on Hide in editing View.

Also when you said "Right click on the visibility channel of the old layer and select "Add key frame".

I went to the Time Line went to Visibility Layer but theres Nothing there i made all my Background in Frame 0 is that what i did wrong to begin with?

O and i made the backgrond for the first Scene and put it in switch Layer folders will that affect this in anyway?

hi Kayoda_Zender.
Without seeing your layer structure it is difficult to give any advice on how to do the requested task.

I guess that you have organized your animation into this way:

Character Layers
Background Layers

What you have to do is to place all the character layers (bone layers, vector layers and so on) inside a group layer (a bone layer if you don't have AS PRO). Then do the same with the background layers. Be sure that Character group layer and Backgrounds Group layers are both root layers.

So finally you have two root layers, Characters and Backgrounds.

Save the file and create a new one. Then go to File->Import->Anime Studio Object... At the pop up window select the just saved file and then select the Characters group folder and import it. You have then a new fresh file with all your "non-background" objects to make a new animation file.

I thik that the best way is to organize your scenes into different files instead of change backgrounds visibility.

The Way i did the Layers not sure if this is right But Each Switch Layer has a pice of the background in it it looks like this. O sorry if my spelling is wrong.

Switch Layer (Mountins)
Layer(Cliff)

Switch Layer (Rocks of water full)
Layer (Rocks)

Switch Layer (Rushing water)
Layer (Rippels)

Switch Layer (Water in Water Full)
Layer (Water)

The problem is and i think this might be one of the problems is that i made
the scene's On Frame 0 and once it gets to fram 40 i want to make a new scene but i need a layer thats blank. Cause when i make a new layer i can still see the other scene in the background.

Now should i just hide the other layers from the editing View and if i do that when all the scenes are done how do i make them viewable so u see scene by scene like a normall cartoon i'm so lost.

I really like Anime Studio cause lets me do what i wanna do when it comes to drawing. I tryed Macromedia Flash 8 and it doesn't give me the same kind of look.

I'm sorry again i'm a newbe tryed the tutorials but it doesn't have what i need help with.

Put ALL of the different back grounds in ONE switch layer. On the frame you want to switch the back ground, right click on the switch and pick the layer.

Switch layers should always have more than one layer. That is what they do, they "switch" the layers inside them.

forget about making layers invisible for now. It is too confusing for you at this point and I don't think you need it.

I suggest you go back and read through the tutorials again and read all the help files about layers.

The invisibility channel will make a layer invisible if you set it or check the box in the layer properties. Doing it from the time line is just a little faster. Read about the animation channels in the help. Experiment keying channels with a test file.
