Considering that the copyright notice on these pages indicate that phpBB hasn't been updated since 2005 I can imagine there are BUNCHES of security holes.

A lot of those updates are for security holes.

Dagnabbit this is freaking annoying.

I'm just glad I copied all of my posts before this happened.

Just making a distinction here: SmithMicro owns the contentparadise Anime Studio forums while Lostmarble belongs to Mike Clifton. Honestly I think it's too early to start worrying about the end of the forums, but hopefully the problems get fixed soon.

Yeah I'm not sure if it's a hacker it looks like the information in the database is getting corrupted somehow.

The guys from ToonBoom Studio have started their own community on wetpaint, separate from the official webforum. Don't get all mad, people, I'm just saying.

I certainly think that's a viable option here if things don't get fixed within a reasonable time period.

However, what "reasonable time period" means is up to interpretation. Pretty obviously if this goes on for even more than a month or two this place will start to resemble a ghost town, as new users (and even some experienced folks) start to stay away. If we lose the big guns then we might as well close up shop.

I'd be more than happy to host an AS forum (I've already hosted a couple of forums for many years now) but there is no sense in considering this if *someone* (and I guess in this case it has to be Mike Clifton) gets this particular forum fixed. Particularly if it happens in the next few weeks.

But what are the odds of that? Is there a direct email address to reach him? Can we at least get a response from him to know if he ever intends to do something? (Inquiring minds want to know).

I would assume at least that mods like Vern have Mike's email address (as forum admin I made sure all my mods can contact me easily for issues just like this).

Mikes normal email address is:

support@lostmarble.com

I imagine that there have been several attempts already at conbtacting him about the problem but...like the old saying.....the squeeky wheel always gets oiled.
