Face animation

Post by Germain »

Hi everyone !

It's my first post here ! My name is Germain and I come from France so please forgive my english. I enjoy drawing and recently I heard about anime studio that's why I am here !

So I post it because I want to animate a manga like face. Just a girl saying something like "I love you" with a motion of her head.

I have already drawn the face on many different layers. One for the hair, one for each eyes... All the layers are done with another software and imported as *.png.

The problem is that I can't do anything good even if I have already done all the tutorials (from the help). I wonder if anime studio is really usefull for my task. So I have 3 questions !

Here is the first question : Do you have some hints, tutos on face animating form me ? I would love to have rose agent to learn how they did but it's expensive !

My second question : Maybe a simple gif animated software is good enough for me ? The only + I found in anime studio is the motion of the hair with the bone dynamics. (even if I didn't manage to simulate wind as they do in rose agent. Can you do this ?)

And at last : I didn't manage to make eyes and mouth opening and closing using bones (It screw all the face ^^). Is it possible or should I better use multiple layers.

So what a long post ! Thank you if you manage to read it all trough !

PS : Does anyone have a *.anme of a face animation ! It would help for sure !

Hi Germain

First forget to the forum members for lack of response. Due to technical problems we are having problems to post, search even see our own posts.
Second: taking the hair apart, Agent Rose animation is manly done by point animation. There are a pair of techniques there that uses bones. Thery are lost in the forum database and as well as I cannot search I cannot show you the tutorials. When it were corrected search for "Simple head turn from DK" and "Actions head turn by DarthFurby". The last one uses actions to perform the animation. I think they are the most useful ones.

Ah! go to the Tips and Techniques forum and there is a sticky post called ***Resources***. Lots of good links there.

Good luck and welcome :)
