layer order

Post by Stephen X »

Hey everyone!

I just download 5.6 and I wanted to figure out the layer ordering feature. Does anyone know where I can read more about the "how to" here? I can't seem to find it:(

Thanks in advance!

There's a couple of threads around talking about it.

Layer order is pretty simple.
Basically just change the order of a layer in the layer palette inside a group or bone layer in the time line and it keys a new channel in the group layer. There is a new channel for animated layer order for group and bone layers.

I also think that the book Anime Studio, The Official Guide needs a revision, because with animateable layer ordering, suddenly certain techniques are much easier to execute without elaborate preparation**.

Note ** I can remember something with bones to flip layers behind other layers when a certain threshold was reached, using layer scripting. That was a hack, now it is built into the program itself.

No. We don't send threads. There's a search function in the forum, and we believe the users are intelligent enought to know how to use it.

A thread named "new features" would be a starting point.

Thanks for being so nice slowtiger. I don't believe the question was addressed to you.

Play nice kids. :)

Uh... basically I don't have any more idea where that thread is than you do. If I looked for it I would probably do a search. I guess the point slowtiger was making... if I can use the forum search so can anyone else. ;)

I can tell you that where ever the threads are they are probably recent enough to show on the first page of each of the sections, general, how do I... tips techniques... etc.

I bet if you search for "5.6" it should nail it pretty good. I'm too lazy today to go hunting for it. ;)

Thanks Vern. I did do a search, but was wading through talk and no step-by-step. Thanks for responding! You are always the best!!!
