Auto Gain in Switch Layer degrades audio

After I export a dat file from Papagayo, I double click the mouth layer, click the switch tab, and attach the file. It always shows Auto Gain as 1 and is locked from being changed. Then I go to Select Soundtrack and select the audio file of the same name as the dat file. My audio always sounds bad compared to what it sounded like in Papagayo.

Any help would be greatly appeciated
