I would like to create horror-dark films

Hi all I just purchased Iclone 2.5 studio. I love the fact that it's very user friendly. I also have Poser 6 but it is not very user friendly that is why I made the switch. I have some characters in Poser.Can i import them to Iclone? Also I want to create dark-comedy horror films with Iclone is it possible to make the characters do things like fight with weapons hurt and even kill? Is it possible to have scary sceneries and draw blood even be-headings or other body parts? Is it possible to have scenes such as showers,bedrooms, adult themes? I also create music videos, how possible is it to have more urban scenery?

I think you are in the wrong forum to get questions about that program answered. This forum is for Anime Studio, a 2D animation application.

That being said, if you were using Anime Studio you could definitely do all those things you asked about (except the import Poser thing).

Because RealIllusion is the maker of iClone and those are the official forums. I can't imagine you'd have any problems asking your questions there.

Poser is probably the best application to make 3d cg movies for a beginners. You have access to tons of free objects and you can buy the props that you can't get for free. Most are Pre rigged. The down side is Poser is not a complete application. Your best way is to import PZ3 Poser file into Vue Carrara or if you got the money Maya, Lightwave, 3D max etc. because Poser has no network rendering.

Might I comment that you had a reply to the thread you started, less than 8 hours after you posted? It seems you never returned (only 2 visits of your own post) to check.

Anyway, before you buy Anime Studio or Anime Studio Pro, I would certainly download the 30 days demo version, to see if you like this software. Anime Studio has a somewhat unusual interface not everyone appreciates at first encounter. However, it is cross-platform and very flexible. Once you get used to the interface and how to think about creating animation, you get things done quicker than in other 2d animation programs.

I must admit that of the work I have seen with Iclone 2.5 studio, I have not seen a single render which has made me go "Cor, thats good". None of the images of the iClone site look good. Compare that with the very free Blender ... there are jaw dropping renders there. The work being done with the Indigo ray-traces is breathtaking - and it's all free!

The problem is there are no good quick 3D programs out there, they all take a long time to learn. Anime Studio will produce the kind of thing you want, and in a much shorter time frame. But it still requires a heap of talent and time to do it well.

You might want to concentrate on the writing and directing and get others with the time-server learning d o the work for you.

Now you mentioned "having the time", I wonder Rhoel, do you outsource some of your non-creative, non-automatable work to something like the Mechanical Turk, for pay, of course? So, apply life hacking and Getting Things Done (GTD) to free up your own time.

I've heard of busy people delegating their e-mail to someone else, and phoning that other person to ask if there was any e-mail that couldn't be answered with boilerplate, and talk them through it, so the other person could send an appropriate answer, or forwarding the e-mail for you to answer yourself.

The best is that these people aren't on your payroll and don't have to be paid if your production is suspended for some reason.

I guess this model could be used for some of the grunt work of animation production and administration, that isn't sensitive or mission critical, but is best done by a real human being, and would free you to concentrate on the production of something like a horror movie.

Check 43folders for productivity tips. I'm sure you will be amazed how much time you can save. The creator, Merlin Mann, has delegated most of the posts to other people, so he can run his business (which is thinking new ideas and pitching them to other people).
