Storyboard for Radiohead's NUDE

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this story I wrote for Radiohead's video contest. I'm too much of a noob to whip together a full animation like some of the other contestants have done. On the other hand I have a great story and some of them at least are better animators than they are writers. Maybe I have a shot if I can find someone to collaborate with?

The thumbnail is made of some live traced photos lit in after effects. It's sort of a gist of how the colors/depth will look.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

I'd say, so far so good!

Can you tell me how you incorporate storyboards into AS? Do you have to redraw your characters for every scene, or do you find a way to use pre-existing ones, and modify them? General stuff, like that, because me and my friend are getting into animation, and though we can make it on the computer, we believe that a storyboard would be essential. For now, though, I don't know how I would use it in AS. Thanks!

[edit]

When I have time to (I'm about to go to bed), I'll write a summary of what I thought of the storyboard. Night!

Dark. Looks like a good interpretation. I was a bit concerened at the beginning that you were going to take a very literal line, but it wasn't like that at all! If you have no experience with animatiion, I'd say it would be worth hooking up with someone.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

I sketched them out on little bits of paper and scanned them in, then used the camera in AS to cut from one to the next. Then I ended up redrawing a lot of them in PS and Illustrator. I actually used motion for the text in the end, to keep it from moving around and distracting people. My workflow is, um, developing, you might say. So I'm probably not the best person to ask for advice around here. :) If you asked, I'm sure you'd get some better suggestions.

Thanks for watching!

The musical "event" of the song has the line "You'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking," So maybe it's about child abuse and remorse from the perspective of the abuser. Or maybe this person just made a series of mistakes that separated her from her family and in these terrible moments all she can think of is her young son, even though he's probably long grown up. I'm not sure if the war around her is literally happening or not. Maybe all of her days seem like a war and this is the one where she finally realises she's been pining for a person who no longer exists, all this time ignoring very real people around her.

I like to try to stay away from literal, or even answering every question in the story, so that people can see what suits them in it. Thanks for taking the time to watch!

I'd love to find a collaborator for this (and a few other) projects. Anyone interested can email me at howtopoz at gmail dot com.

Thanks!
