You need to explain in more detail what you mean by 'lazer type thing'. Maybe even find reference images that show something similar that you could post. Or even some of your attempts....

Try uploading to Mediafire and posting the link here.

Or describe what you're going for better. Is it anything like the power source of the Deathstar? Do you just need help simulating lazer light? Being just a little more specific will get you more help.

Just a bit of knowledge. Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. I don't know what "lazer" or "lizer" is. I hope it is just misspelling.

A "laser line" would be the trace of a laser beam in air or smoke (because it's invisible in vacuum or plain air). As you all know from numerous SF flicks, it is:

1. bright. Take some bright colour for the line.
2. glowing. Usually this would be an effect done in a compositing software, but fortunately it can be done in AS as well. Just create a second line underneath the beam, choose a slightly darker colour, and set its layer blur to some value you like. Render the frame to see the effect.

Hello ericii

Dunno if you actually made that laser since your post in may, but here is my take on it.

lazer.anme 2kb zip

lazer.mov 9 kb

I only made tree lines with contour line only with a bit of softedge, animated them on 3 layers.

Fun stuff
