hi,
Im a newbie to AS. have used it for short clips in other animated projects but am finally choosing to use it as my main medium. Hence I my have Q's from time to time. The first one that comes to mind involves "handheld camera" simulation.
I was wondering if there are places I could download scripts for different "handheld camera" movements (more herky-jerky or less herky-jerky) and if so, where are they?
thank you

I have not seen a hand held camera script... it might be there if you search.
However there is key frame interpolation called "noise" which might do the trick... It only has 2 settings; scale and amplitude. So on frame 1 you would key the camera translation and set that key to "noisy". If you want it to stop being noisy later add a new key frame and change the interpolation.

Not sure how good the script is but, I'd look to do this out of AS. After effects or combustion. Theres a fairly simple "wiggle" script that can do this. You can attach this to a slider and control the degrees of camera shake. I'd say though a hand held camera is more than a shaky camera but something that sugests a person is actually holding the camera. A good result could be to use a real camera. Draw some registration marks on a bit of white paper. Pin it up, shoot it and track the results.

interesting thought!
suppose it could be applied frame by frame to the AS camera. as for doing it in Aftr FX, could be done if i exported each layer separately.
... although one of the advantages of doing it in AS is that you can use distance between layers and get a sort of "stereoscopic-like" depth illusion bc of the way the camera "sees" the different layers whilst "jiggling" unsteadily.
