Do you have the same sound file on each PC? WAV files?

When you say "i can select sound" do you mean
- soundtrack button greyed out, not usable?
- can browse for sound but can't find any?

If there is no difference between the two PCs... must be the sound file. If it isn't the sound file... then it must be the PCs... but they are the same so it must be the sound file... but if it isn't the sound file...

;)

There is obviously something wrong with either the sound format or file or the PC. The file may be incorrectly formated or damaged in transport, or there is something wrong with the machine. I have no problems with sound on the PC or the mac in AS. AS doesn't have a problem with sound as long as it's in the correct format.

The two PCs could not be "identical" unless the drives are mirrored. There must be different programs, games, etc. Games will often do things to the drivers that can cause all sorts of trouble.

Rule out a problem with the sound card. Make sure you are using the exact same sound file to test this with.

Or AS might be corrupt -- remove and reinstall.

The key is being able to select the sound for import at all -- as the previous poster noted, is the option grayed out, or can you select the option but not the sound file? If you can't even do an import because the option ain't there then there is something wrong with your install of AS.
