I have a question if anyone can help
I have a big question and wonder if anyone can help me..
I wasn't sure if I should put this here or not so I placed it here
it sorta has to do with anime studio too...
See I'm using Anime studio to animate the cut scenes in my game I'm making with game maker. and I'm writing it on a CD but the CD doesn't automaticly play the game when the CD is placed in and for kids younger then 10 find it confusing going into My computer just to open a game...
I wanted to know if anybody knew how to get a program to autoplay CD's to open the program on it or something like that ... if anyone knows what I'm talking about ... Please Help me!!!

I guess that what you're saving in the CD is a avi/mov animation or any other type of a movie file. What you need to do in order to make a auto-play CD is to create a DVD movie on it. Don't care if it is not a DVD, just create the DVD structure in your hard disk and burn it into a CD like if it were a DVD. If you're using Windows you'll probably can do it very easy with Windows Movie Maker. If using linux you can use QDVDauthor for that task. any of them would convert your movie into a dvd compatible format and grab it to be automatically played in any computer (or dvd player). If you use Mac I don't really know but I bet that there are several programs that do that.

its not like that. not the viddeos the videos play fine . duing gameplay in the game the game opens the videos as cutscenes as I said above but I need something that can autoplay the game from the CD so the Game and the videos in it will work. I can't even get a game based EXE on a DVD format anyways...
do you get what I'm sayin I feel I'm still not saying this right...

I *think* what you mean is that you want to integrate a game on the PC with some cut scene game animations/graphics on a CD. I don't think 'autorun' comes into it. I believe you need a so-called "wrapper" program. I have done stuff like this with Flash and CD-based videos using SWF Studio (I used others as well, but this was the best). They have a trial download so you can check if this works with game maker. Google for it. The key question is: "Can game maker use cut scenes on the hard drive?" If it can, you have a chance. If it can't, putting them on a CD won't help!
SWF Studio is about $200, but well worth it if you want that kind of thing...Have you tried contacting the game maker developers to see if they can offer any advice?

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
Oh no I already know how to put cutscenes in a game... it was the fact that my CD didn't autorun when the CD is inserted.
Genete said what I meant thou. I used the Text tutoral off google and the CD did what I wanted to.
THANK YOU FOR HELPIN ME WITH MY PROBLEM!
May I ask another question. does anyone knows about Copyright and how to get it. because before distribution of the game, comic and animated Series (mainly the comic) we need to copyright the story from it being stolen in anyway. We had this happen before with another story because it wasn't copyrighted. Thou this NEEDs to be.
I just need to know where to do this or what not and how much it will cost. if anyone could help.

Copyright cannot protect you from having your story stolen -- the best it can do is provide your legal team with a good case for suit. But note that unless you have a lot of money (for the lawyers) AND the people you are suing have assets (it doesn't do to win if you can't collect) you aren't going to get anywhere. And it will take years.
In any case, in the U.S. copyright is inherent -- IOW, you are presumed to have copyright no matter what, and filing for it legally isn't necessary (but it's easy -- you can get the forms (and all information about the process) here:

When someone steals a story or in your case a comic Idea, although Idea's not copyrightable, its best to expose the thief as much as possible. That way they it hurts them profiting from your hard work and make others think twice about dealing with them. This works better than any lawyer or court.

oh thank you. and the idea wasn't no big deal. I wasn't goin to go into that mess. I just need the title of my series and it's characters to be copyrighted. This will go well all I need to do now is advertise, but we won't go over board until the project is done. thanks
