Yes you read that right, the latest version of TrueSpace was released as freeware - if you want to check it out its available at: http://www.caligari.com/default.asp
It does require registration, but apart from that it seems as if its the real deal. Must have something to do with Microsoft buying Caligari earlier in the year - but not the usual way MS deals with their new acquisitions...

Thanks for sharing! I used to use TrueSpace way back when, but for me it was the icon-based interface that was the eventual turn-off. Have you ever seen footage of old-school Chinese typewriters? They were like drafting desks packed with keys. That was how I felt in front of TrueSpace. But for free, I'll try again...!
