This is kinda interesting but shouldn't it be posted under a different category?

Plus (and I truly mean this to be helpful and not to be harsh or critical) if you are really interested in becoming a screenwriter I would *strongly* urge you to take some courses in English composition (and possibly Communication).

Writing is all about communication, and both your posts here as well as your web site reveal some basic flaws in your understanding of the English language. This isn't uncommon -- many people graduating college are sadly deficient in English skills. But most of them aren't seeking to become writers.

As just a *small* example, it would have been far better to write "Anyone looking for a feature Animation SCRIPT?" What you wrote was not grammatically wrong, but it was contextually incorrect. Much the same is true on the opening page of your web site, as well as many of your synopses.

I'm all for encouraging young talent and, once again, this is meant to be helpful to you. Learning proper grammar and communication skills will only increase your ability to become a success.

I've moved this topic to MIsc chit-chat. I wasn't exactly sure where else to put it since it doesn't have any specific AS reference.

On the topic of writing skills... uh... reading skills are important as well. When you sign up on a forum you should read some of the topics first to find out what is going on. If you had you would have realized that the "Scripting" forum you posted in originally is... uh... not what you think it is.

No -- I actually AM a producer (and hire writers -- not you, of course).

You're not worth it. A real producer wouldn't bash someones writing on a board. They would be professional & email the writer privately.

Sigh. You're so young.

First of all, you will not make it in the big leagues if you have this thin a skin. Of that you can take it to the bank.

But, more importantly, suggesting that you improve yourself is not "bashing" -- and doing it on an open forum was purposeful (since you are far from alone in needing improvement in basic communication skills).

Hey -- I'm a very old man and I'm *constantly* in need of improvement (an unexamined life is not worth living -- without looking it up can you tell me who said that? If not, then that is something else you can do to improve yourself. Enrich your life experiences and knowledge and your writing will improve as well). I need improvement in many skills, more knowledge of history, the arts, languages, technology... the list is endless.

Once again, I mean no harm in all of this. I'm very very sorry it offended you but for a moment try and get past your anger and do not consider the source but consider the advice. Some day, when you are far older (and perhaps wiser) you might actually be thankful for it.

mkelley-
Sorry, but I did receive your comments as offensive. However, I accept your apology. I of course apologize for upsetting you. I am a screenwriter trying to sell my screenplays. I only have one screenplay that I want an animated producer to purchase. All the rest of my scripts are not meant for a animated producer to pick up. Just Jazz Cat. I reviewed your web site & it looks good. I just want a animated producer to purchase my screenplay. So...if you are interested, or anyone reading this post is interested, then drop me a line at: afac81a@hotmail.com to view my animation screenplay "Jazz Cat" It targets all ages.

Boy Mike, you're on a roll lately.

Overall I'd have to agree. I wasn't going to bother saying anything, but since this thread has taken this turn, I'll chime on in.

Aside from this topic being relevant to perhaps "Animation Jobs", it struck me as being a bit spam-like. Being posted in the wrong area and neglecting to be clear about the intent to sell a script, seem like cheap ploys.

This may not be the case, but if you are not looking for a collaboration with an ASP animator specifically, I'd think you'd be better off trying to peddle your script on AWN or another general animation site. I'm pretty sure there are such places to post for people who are actually looking for scriptwriters. But this forum may seem like an untapped market.

I just really believe that people looking to entice buyers of any product should try to be as forthright as possible. I personally refuse to purchase anything that I feel has been underhandedly advertised or promoted. That includes enticement by omission.

But like I said, that may not have been your intent. Just letting you know the impression I got of your posting and site.

As far as being a screenwriter, I'd at least suggest using a spellchecker on your website.
A dark mist appears from under whater.
Misspelling on your website doesn't inspire confidence in your general writing skills. Also I really don't apreciate any site that has pop-unders.

Just some things to think about.

Your right. Wrong site to post. Oh, by the way...whater? I have no whater on my site. Anyway, this is the wrong place for me to post.

Best to everyone!

You dirty punk. Of course you go and fix your website before responding to the mistake I pointed out. I copied that 'whater' line directly from your website. And I wasn't talking to you when I said 'Mike'.

I don't know... sounds a bit "trollish" to me. 2 posts and he starts off with fists raised and verbally defensive.

If you are serious "screenwriter" you will have to lose the attitude. Being "forceful" and defensive does not make you a better writer... it just makes you... annoying. When you bait people into a fight no one will like you even if your stuff is great.

And if you have sold stuff... why in God's name are you posting here? Last place on the planet a talented marketable screenwriter would hawk his work.
