Hi Mikdog. I can't connect to that AS file you uploaded. I would really love to see it to check out how you get that sketchy felt pen look.

Cheers

Ahoy,

The sketchy pen look is actually pen on paper in this case. I scanned it in and coloured it in Photoshop. For the music video it was drawn on a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet straight into Photoshop. I'm not sure how one would achieve that look in AS, although I'm sure it wouldn't be impossible with a custom brush. Might take a lot of time though.

For the original Happy Land look that WAS drawn all in AS, you check it out here:

Put together a little clip over the weekend showing a Bad Lander being converted into a Happy Lander:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIW4YGM5i3g

The premise I have thus far:

There's a planet made up of half Happy Land and half Bad Land. The goodies and baddies are in a constant struggle to convert the inhabitants of the planet to their own ranks. Bad Land is ruled by King FeelBad (who's at the end of the clip) and Happy Land is ruled by Princess Yum-Yum.

That's about it!

Er...the yellow being looks like genitalia (maybe it's just my mind?)...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

 My thoughts exactly Jahnocli. I had hoped someone else would notice before I felt obligated to say something.

Hmm...i guess it is kind of phallic. Wasn't intentional though. Perhaps my unconscious mind is coming to the fore. Anyway, the local broadcasters are having another look at happy land, so i'll post any news here. Peace out.

The other clip states it was removed so I couldn't watch it, but I will imagine it was fantastic, as is all your other work.

I liked the clip on vimeo - looks great. Are those just standard settings to get the widescreen look just right? I've tried it and it usually comes out with black bars on the sides still.

Hi,

Yep. Standard settings in AS from AS 5.4 for widescreen.

What probably makes it work alright is that once I've exported it from AS I bring it into iMovie on a Mac and export using a predefined setting. (Called LARGE ha ha) and that greatly reduces the file size and then I know that it'll work in YouTube, and in this case, Vimeo.

M4V file, 960 x 540, H.264 video codec, AAC audio codec, 1752 bitrate, 31.6 MB.

Thanks for the settings. I have Windows and use Sony Vegas but I'm pretty sure they have those same settings. I know I stumbled onto the H.264 codec after reading one of your posts and it truly works wonders!
