It would be great if we could colour code layers tabs in the layer window for quick identification.
Imagine it ...right click and select its colour....oh soooo good.
I'm sure this would be one of the easiest requests ever to implement .
Please vote for this if you think it as useful as I do.
Colour coded layers tabs.

Sorry DK, I didn't realise, I should have hunted the post down and bumped it up.DK wrote:Yes....I think I may have suggested this some time ago. Coloured bones would also be handy.

Coloured bones would be awesome
Also a more subtle onion skin ( filled with some transparency and colour coding too) maybe. At present the onion skin is difficult to read when there are many shapes involved.
What do you think of being able to make bone chains of the same colour have off and on visibility and even their own time lines, to clear up the bone animation time line a bit?
I find this too gets boggy and cluttered.

Love ALL those ideas....especally the bone chains of the same colour and on/off visibility. I wonder if Bone visibility is something a script could do... Vern? What do you think of being able to make bone chains of the same colour have off and on visibility and even their own time lines, to clear up the bone animation time line a bit?

I've been using my colorized bone groups scripts for a while now. It works... uh... pretty well. It does what you describe, being able to hide and show groups of bones. To automatically include new bones in the group of the parent etc etc. I've actually gotten quite use to it even with the occasional bug.
But... to release it for everyone to use is so... extensive I am afraid to do it. It can "break" very very easily and it requires modified versions of ALL the tools... every single one. There is no other way to make it work. I've asked Mike and he confirms this. So going "back" is hard to do. It isn't a simple matter of removing a single script. Pain in the arse and more than I would expect people to do just for colorized bones. Plus it saves this extra "bone groups file" with every single darn AS file and for the life of me I can't figure out how to turn that off when it isn't used.
Like I said, I take it for granted and use it all the time mainly because it is such a pain to take it out.
I'm hoping a future version of AS will allow this to work without such extensive modifications to the tools and also the ability to store that data in the file somehow.
