Well - this happens everytime someone uses an odd codec, not a standard one. Since it seems to be much easier to install obscure codes on Win than on Mac, video files from PC users are more likely not to play. The combo of codecs on the Mac has been pretty much the same since 1995, with additions of new and improved codecs only, and they're all installed automatically with the system.mac users complaining " I couldn't get the file to play"

Believe me slo, it doesn't take an odd codec to confuse many mac or pc users, I even had an " I can't play that file "from a pc user with a mov last week, the fact is they were trying to play mov's on WMP.
I'm not bagging mac or pc users, but we all know noobs and wrinklies who just can't work it out.
Full stick noobs are frightened of pc's, that's not to say macs aren't awesome they are and so are pc's .
No need for defence.
Back to topic QT pro, it's what, 20 bucks?

30. The only thing that prevents me from buying it is that it is available only through their online shop, and the only accepted payment is via credit card*. Credit card? Are they crazy? Can't they at least use PayPal? I've alredy complained to them, but without any reaction.
(*outside USA not all people have credit cards.)

Yeah I tried to live without a credit card for years, I finally gave up when I went to the US for a job. I was booked into the Lux in Bel Air -all paid for by work (nice), but they wouldn't check me in without a credit card (nasty).
Luckily my twin brother was living in Studio City, otherwise I would have been sleeping under a bridge.
The hotel did get it sorted the next day, by then I had finally learned my lesson but I do have QuickTime Pro now and Anime Studio Pro too amongst a feast of other software that I wouldn't have without it.
